Text

"The ground-works of many ruins can still be traced to Saint Daveog's Island no Olean na Maomh or Island of the Saints) and a paved way (via strata) or old road can still be traced from the old graveyard of Templecarn to that point of Seeavog Townland that juts out into the Lough close upon the Island. This neck was anciently connected with the Island by a wooden bridge supported by stone pillars, a part of which can yet be seen when the water is clear."
