Text
"Templecarn contains 794 families, 1,987 males, 2,185 females, 1,728 Established Church, 2,568 Roman Catholic, 97 Presbyterians, 4,393 total. From the above it will be seen that an unusual number of Protestants, compared with the rest of the population, reside in Templecarn. The neglected state of the Established religion has caused Methodism to prevail in this district."
